How the Partnership Works
The Deep River Partnership is based on providing you with all of the help you need to get your book published by a professional publishing company AND get your book distributed. If your book is selected to be published by Deep River Books, you'll be able to see your book in retail bookstores as well as buy back copies at substantial author discounts off the retail price.

This is how it works:
Writing Consultation and Editing
We work with you, step by step, in offering feedback, editing, and style comments until your manuscript is ready for publication. Our editorial team is led by Lacey Ogle, our Associate Publisher and Chief Editor.
Title and Cover Design
We assist you with creative suggestions for the title of your book, and we use professional graphic designers to design the cover. (And we let the author have input into the look of the final design.)
Printing
We then partner with you in the initial print run. We decide how many copies we need to print for initial bookstore distribution, and you decide how many you wish to buy for your own distribution. You, as author, can purchase your book at discounts from 30-75% off retail, depending on the quantity you order with the initial print run.
Marketing and Distribution
We market and distribute your book to all of the major retail outlets in the United States and Canada.
How We Market
Deep River's marketing partnerships are some of the most powerful in the industry. First at no charge to you, Deep River has a subsidarary called Bring It On! Communications led by Rhonda Funk. This team helps with creative content for the back cover of your book as well as the catalog in which your book is listed. They also create a press release that is sent out to the top five hundred media contacts that Deep River has and works with you to arrange media interviews when the opportunity arises. In addition, Deep River displays your book at selected book trade shows such as the International Christian Retail Show and the Retailing Reboot. We also send review copies to major Christian magazines and other selected publications. The Bring It On! team is your resource for helpful tips on ways to market your book and can be contracted separately by you to build Web sites and handle media relations. Second, Deep River's distribution starts with our great sales team at STL. Their marketing/sales team calls on the large Christian and secular retail chains such as Barnes & Noble, Family Christian Stores, LifeWay, Borders, Books-a-Million, and all other bookstore chains and "big box" retail outlets. They also provide your book to Amazon and other major book Web sites. In addition, they make sure your book is stocked at the wholesale distributors such as Ingram/Spring Arbor, Baker/Taylor, and Appalachian. (Click here to meet our great sales team!)

Third, your book will be marketed to hundreds of independent Christian retailers. Our sales team for these stores is the Revelation Marketing Group, and they call on these stores four times a year. With over thirty-five years of sales and marketing experience in the Christian publishing industry, Revelation Marketing Group is a leader in this niche market. Their coast-to-coast coverage with a highly trained and experienced sales force allows for strong relationships with buyers and vendors alike. In addition to representing Deep River, the Revelation Marketing Group represents Kregel Publications, Gospel Light/Regal, Howard Publishing, and Standard Publishing. Revelation Marketing Group has eight full-time field reps and three full-time inside telemarketers.
Fourth, we also work with other ABA sales teams who represent our books to the secular bookstore trade.
While there is no guarantee that your book will sell well, our sales and marketing teams are among the best and most comprehensive in the world, and they will do their best in presenting your book to the media and the hundreds of retail outlets across America.
